Haha fair enough. So I took it to the on base auto shop and went over everything on the alternator again. The vibration ended up loosening the nuts on the part I was using to hold the bottom of the alternator in place. So I tightened it up to a half inch in play on the belt, torqued down on it hard so it won't happen again and now it's back to charging around 12.50. I might take the regulator apart later to see if that's fried, but the last owner riveted it in place for some ****ing reason.

the old regulator?
Remove it and tape the wires

12.5 is a very weak charge

It's a connector piece, not wires. I disconnected it. Will check it out tomorrow to see if there's a change

Just got home and checked it after I turned it off, it was 12.93 even with the radio on during my whole drive.

still need on board volt meter as the readings are all over the place.
12.93 is what you would expect in a proper system after having just been driven

Yeah I've got to figure out where I'm gonna put the voltmeter and how I'm gonna wire it.

And also how to stop this vapor lock I keep experiencing.

the volt meter can just sit on the passenger seat or console until you work this out...it doesnt have to be fancy...run 2 wires from the meter to the post on the battery. Keep it simple for now.

Put a cigarette lighter plug on the voltmeter and plug it into the cigarette lighter. That will show the battery voltage anytime the key is on run or acc. You can buy them like that.
