Can you put the shifter in 1st, 2nd, and drive and park positions?

Does it go forward if you put the shifter in 1st or 2nd?

Did a transmission shop rebuild and install the trans?

ok, if your transmission has enough fluid, AND, the torque converter is installed correctly, AND the shift linkage is tight so it is not slipping on the external shift rod, then the problem is inside the transmission itself . If the problem is inside the transmission, it means the shop that built it did not do it correctly. Hopefully they gave you some type of warranty/guarantee.

i don't know exactly what part inside the trans can cause this. it could be many things, but the easiest thing to check is the valve body and make sure all the check ***** etc are in the right place and that the pistons move freely and have the right springs etc.

I don't know much about auto transmissions. You might need to find someone near to you or email bad shoe productions or try a transmission forum etc.
