Transmission leak

Transmission leak
I have a 65 Mustang with a C-4 transmission. On my way back from a show I noticed a lot is smoke coming from my car. When I got home I found that it was the transmission leaking. Today when I put it on my lift it started pouring. It appears to be coming out of the vent tube that’s located directly above the downshift linkage and almost behind the shifter linkage. It was running out of the vent tube quite freely. What could be causing this??? I know engines but I am clueless when it comes to transmissions. Please help. I included a pic, you can see the end of the vent tube at the top of the pic with fluid coming out.

Odd that it would come out there instead of the dip-stick tube... The vent is for heat,
so if trans fluid is coming out then it's probably over-heating. People say partially
blocked cooler may cause it. The number one reason I have seen was over-filled,
but you verified that isn't the case. If it were the TO cooler line, it would also come
out the dip-stick tube. The vent is usually above the drums and clutch packs, it's
not a direct path to the pan. If it's over heating, it will blow out the vent. If you drive
hard and shifting at high rpms, the pressure in the trans is higher, it can also blow
out the vent. When you stop, the pressure builds up some, and it can also spill out
the vent. Fluid expands when it gets hot, that's why you measure the fluid once at
operating temperature, not cold; in park, motor running.

I will check the transmission lines and make sure they are ok. I put an aluminum radiator on it at the end of last year so I will check and make sure the fluid is flowing through the cooler freely and not stopped up. Thanks for all of the help.

that didn't happen... Oh well, must just be a Mustang thing...
