Default 1965 Rewire - Painless vs. American

Starting my research on this fall's/winter's main project - rewiring my 1965 coupe with an all new wiring harness and connectors so I'm reaching out to the group to see who's had the best or worst experiences using "Painless" and "American Auto-wire". My car is a regular at my local cars & coffee meets but I'm slowly taking it towards a part-time auto-crosser - over the course of the next 2 years so I'm looking for reviews on Painless and American to see who's worth my money, right now I'm leaning towards American simply because of the number of circuits and better on-line reviews.

Any help would be appreciated!

Mario

AAW is who most people in the truck world recommend. That is who I have purchased my wiring kit from. Only negative I have about them is you either have to rent their wire crimper or purchase one because they require a specific style crimper.

Thanks 1slow67. No worries on the crimper, I'm an electrician, just another tool to add to the collection.

I did the Painless. It worked great. Had everything plus several fittings i did not need.
However, if ypu have efi and gauges like the VHX which i have, ypu will end up not using a lot of the harness. With all the aftermarket stuff inhad, a simple 4 or 5 circuit base kit would have been fine.
But, overall i am happy with the painless kit

Great, thanks for the response. I hear different things about painless, some like, some hat it. Probably going to run with American and just take the time needed and enjoy the work.
