Stock Paint Shine??
 

is there any way that i can get my car to shine as it did when it was new... or somewhere near it.... can i sand a layer or paint off and then wax and buff it? any ideas to get it as shiny or almost as shiny as new... let me know

Eh dont sand it, that would be the biggest mistake. Your paint is a single stage paint job. Meaning the paint and the clear coat are in 1 mixture. The most you can do is wetsand it and have a new coat of clearcoat put on. But if your going to go that far then just sand it, use your stock paint as your primer, spray your new paint, cure, spray the clearcoat (3 or 4 layers) and be happy.... Or bring it to metal and do everything.

Try getting some good (mothers?) polish and wax. Use an orbital buffer, polish first, then wax.

Ummm...I believe the paint on the car is a 2 stage, base coat then cleared. Single stage paint is not commenly used anymore. What we need to know is what color is the car. Any metallic flakes would make the car a 2stage paint.
As far as bring back the shine, is the finish hazy? Have swril marks? Oxidizing in areas? This info, pics are better, would help answer this question.

ok my car is black.... there are swirl marks and on my hood and bumper there are little white specs of something that are really small but piss me off ... i dont know what they are but they are tiny and white i have no pics but ill try to get some .... any help u can give me without pics would be cool for now.. thanks

I hate black....I had a black car and will never own one again....When I trade it in the salesman was so impressed with the condition of the paint he gave me an extra 1500 dollars, I persoanlly, and told him so, thought it looked like crap.

For you to do it, probably not a good idea. Bring black paint back using any kind of buffing compound and having not done it before is a recipe for disaster.
I would find a good detailing shop that does highspeed buffing and spend the 150-200 dollars to get it done. That will remove almost all the swirl marks and the white spots on the car. Then it is a matter of keeping the car clean and waxed at all times. I don't recommand you try just for the fact you can burn through the paint in a matter of seconds if you don't know what you are doing.
Don't use a sponge, use a mitt and clean it before you was the car and that means everytime you dunk it in the bucket you clean it. The swirl marks are from sand in the mitt/sponge and on the car.
Black is the type of color that looks awsome when it is clean, shows every single defect in the paint, attracts dirt like crazy. Black is a labor of love.
