GETTING SCREWED BY CERVINI'S
Hi All
Here is my story. I will be impartial and keep the emotion out of it and only add the facts. Firstly, I have a 2007 Mustang GT and live in Dubai (Middle East). We have a massive Mustang following here and have a big club for the size poplulation here. Check out www.dubaimustangclub.com for those who are curious. My "stage name" here is Quiksilver. I have been in love with Cervinis C-500 Body kit with a ram air hood and as soon as I bought my car decided it would be made up to be a show car with the works from Cervini. This is where it all began..... Because I live in Dubai we usually cannot order direct from the internet so I emailed sales and was answered by Jackie. She was helpful and responsive and answered all my questions. She quoted me for the shipping ($2000!) and said that the order would take 4-5 days to ship to Dubai. I was also told that I could not use another shipper as it was policy to only use Cervini's own shipper. I really wanted the kit so I decided to pay the large shipping fee and hope for the best. Before I handed over $6500 I asked for bank details and a order form or some sort of paperwork. I was given the bank numbers and told no paperwork would be given until payment was made. I was a little worried as the bank details were just a number and could be anyones details. It would be hard to get my money back if there was a problem so I was a little suspicious. I come from Soutrh Africa where crime and fraud is really bad so I became even more concerned and suspicious after I was refused any kind of paperwork and also all emails from Jackie had no type of logo or signature. When I get response from Steeda etc they are all logoed and are clearly from Steeda. Perhaps Cervini's do business a little differently? It seemed a little strange that a business that is so well known and has such an excellent reputation would operate like this. Its not standard practice having no signature or paperwork where I come from. My answer to all this was to put it on hold and check it out on a trip to Vegas in June. When in Vegas I checked out everything including the bank details and Jackie. it was all legit so I was excited to make the order. I made the order via email and made payment via wire transfer. Payment took a week or so. This is where my problems began..... I asked for paperwork after my paymnet was confirmed. perhaps an order form or even a receipt. None was ( and has still to be ) given. I was offered the "order page" form the internet. After several "attempts" to fax paperwork to me I gave up. Then.......after I made payment I was told that it would unfortunately be 3 weeks till my order would be shipped. This was a week AFTER I made the payment from my end. This was never told to me before I ordered and according to the other forums I have posted on this is very irregular. There is certainly no warning of this anywhere I have noticed. Is it in the fine print somewhere? To make matters worse I was also sent a mila AFTER I paid that I should hold back on my order. I queried this as I wondered why it was even sent to me. I was then told it was a mistake. My confidence in this compaby dropped even further. I was patient and waited another week AFTER the 3 weeks just to be sure. In other words 4 weeks since paymnet was recived and 5 weeks since I made ordered for those who are keeping count. I asked again via email what the status of my order is and was again told it would be ANOTHER 3 weeks. I complained and was told that there were parts that were holding up the rest of the order. I phoned Cervini ( from Dubai) after a few days and spoke to Jackie. A nice long phonecall at my expense. I explained that the car was to be a show car and that it would miss its deadline if it wasnt shipped within 3 weeks. the car has to be completed before Sept 21. Thats everything finished - not just the bodykit! She said that the car would be put on high priority ( it obviously wasnt on any kind of high priority before ) and would be shipped in 2 weeks. We are now over the 2 weeks and my last email (today) I was told that I would recieve an email to confirm my shipping. When that would be cannot be said. I have asked whther ANYONE at Cervini may be able to let me know whether my order will be shipped by the end of the week. i am stillawaiting a response. So to sum up its heading towards 8 weeks and there is still no end in sight. I am getting more and more despondant and this whole affair is leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. The guys on my forum have been following this saga with much interest so I think my initial idea to try to open up the Middle East and business for Cervini has cerytainly fallen flat on its face. I dont know what else to say except I am in Dubai with NO PAPERWORK, NO $6500, NO BODYKIT, NO CONFIRMATION OF SHIPPING and NO ANSWERS Can ANYONE offer some sort of Explanation or a solution? Thanks Carl ( Very Unhappy Customer ) aka Quiksilver |
RE: GETTING SCREWED BY CERVINI'S
Let me start off by saying I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune and dealings with Cervini, but after my experience with them I wouldn't expect anything less.
Yes.... you're getting screwed by Cervini's, but then again I got screwed by Cervini's also and that's why I'll never buy a product from them again! |
RE: GETTING SCREWED BY CERVINI'S
Man that sucks. The fact that you have no paperwork for anything is not only a red flag but dude that's like a baseball bat in the face. Maybe time to head back to the States and deal with them face to face.

RE: GETTING SCREWED BY CERVINI'S
Ok I have never had dealings with overseas while here in the states for the very reasons you have described. I feel for your situation and Cervinis does only use their own shippers. I tried to get a replacement bumper from them direct and they would not do it since I bought the kit and had it applied at a car dealer in South Carolina. So I called the dealer in SC and he took care of all the crap for me and had the bumper shipped to him and than painted it by the body and paint guy that did my car and shipped it from SC to MI. So I paid twice the shipping for a bull**** policy that Cervinis has. Now if I really got raped by them I would have made a trip to NJ and spoke to someone face to face. You obviously can't for the most part and I am sorry to hear this happened to you. I hope it gets straightened out very soon and if there is anything I can do just PM or email me. I have the full kit on my 06 GT and am very happy with the fit and fiinish of the parts. They really did their homework on this kit but the customer service needs to improve greatly. J
