Steering Wheel Cover & Plastic Wiper Cover
New to the forum and have already gained some useful information.
I have a 98 GT with around 110k on it and its starting to show its age. There are two major cosmetic issues I'm trying to sort out:
1. Finding a good solution for recovering the leather steering wheel. I talked to a local auto upholstry guy a while ago who said he could recover it and match the color pretty closely (green exterior, tan interior) for about $ 150.00. What's the best way to deal with this? Order a replacement from Ford or an aftermarket source or scrounge one up from the junkyards or ebay or something else? Is this something I could change out myself with decent results?
2. The plastic part between the windshield and the hood has cracked and is missing a big chunk on the driver's side. Are replacements available from Ford or aftermarket sources at reasonable prices?
Any help with these would be greatly appreciated. This car has been in the family since new and other than these has held up wonderfully and I hope to keep it looking good and running strong for years to come.
