Desperate! (Mothball smell)

So I recently bought a 2006 GT. The dealer told me it had a slight mothball odor to it and that it'd be solved with airing out and they hadn't had a chance because the area it was at had been getting rain for weeks straight. I just got it less than a week ago and have had it in the garage with a fan on it. I've cleaned the dash and seats with leather cleaner. The dealer said they steam cleaned the carpets. Right now I've got it sitting in the garage with windows down and a can of baking soda, coffee, and charcoal in it. I'm really hoping the smell will go away. I can still smell it on the carpet and headliner. I removed the carpet from the trunk and used a "spot shot" carpet shampooer on it but still can smell it even on that. Has anyone had success with defeating this nasty smell?

"Sprinkle lavender essential oil on crumpled newspaper. Newspaper will absorb mothball odors and the lavender will both help to get rid of the mothball odor and leave a nice scent."

Got this from ask.com..

But comming from me I have noooo ideaaaa. Sorry bud, maybe if you leave your windows open long enough outside it will eventually go away..?
