the more i think about it the more i want it!
ok, the more i think about getting my car sandblasted, the more i want to get it sandblasted, i dont have a serious rust issue, i do however hav 40 years of caked on dirt in my rear wheelwells and only god knows what under that. a little surface next to the hole inside, and a small hole on my torque box. what i do want, is the satisfaction that there is no more rust on ym car. so ym question is, how much, roughly, would it cost to get my car sandblasted, just blasted, not any new panels being put in.
DON'T!
it will warp the panels and quite possibly cause more problems. soda blasting would be better and if you really want to and have the time to sit there doing it, get chemical paint remover and take it down the slow way.
i'm gonna be buying some paint remover and stripping all the paint off of my coupe and than i'll be grinding all of the BONDO off and looking at how bad a shape the thing really is in!
chemical paint stripper, some sand paper, lot's of time, perferably a place out of the elements, POR-15 or rust bullet and LOTS of patients will be very helpful in this project.

my fault, i meant media blasting in general. i do have time, and patience, and a car port outside, i just want all rust and grime and stuff out of all the nooks and cranies, then i will do any body work needed, then i can coat with POR-15 and then prime and paint.
I was quoted 2,000 to media blast and shoot epoxy primer. like clutch said, another option is (baking) soda blast. $100 plus per hour . it doesn't remove rust though. it just makes it shiney rust.
i'm told it doesn't hurt glass or chrome. you're going to have to strip the interior completely because the media goes everywhere and gets into everything. if I remember correctly just the underside was about 1200. they put it on a lift and blast it, then epoxy it.

well you have the time to gut and dismantle your entire car? i would start by tearing everything off the car and out of the car and then work on the blasting/stripping. you can pay the money to have it done and get it done quickly or you can save some money by doing it yourself with the chemical paint remover (just an option), sanding/cutting out the rust and than por 15 or epoxy primer.
just a thought to kick around cause it is a little on the expensive side (at least for my poor backwoods retard ***!)

yea, the interior is all out already, everything except most of the dash, and the 2 original seatbelts theat the relocated to the ceiling to make it 3 point seatbelts. im gunna call around and ask how much it would cost, if its too much, ill take clu7ch's advice and get some chemical removers, and ill coat it myself at my friends shop.
Chemical stripper is a life saver. I started sanding my trunk and it was taking forever, but the stripper speeded it up like crazy. After all the paint was up, I used 36 grit and got the whole trunk baby smooth and rust free and then primed it. Looks 100x better...
well, duh! unless you're uncle is bill gates! LOL!
really it depends on how much you wanna do yourself and how much you can afford to spend. i wanna save money, as much as i can without endangering the final condition my coupe will be in.
