Default Body Kit & add-ons

Found a 69 fastback in a field that is in pretty bad shape. I need to replace the trunk and the rear quarter extensions, and was wordering if I can switch to the Shelby deck lid and extensions without changing the tail light panel. Also, does anyone know of a body kit for a '69 fastback?

i think the shelby deck lid and tailight pieces shouldnt be what you would worry about right now. i believe you can do that, but these extension pieces around the tailight i think r kinda expensive. i have never seen any body kit, other then the eleanor kit and shelby kits, for a classic mustang that wasn't fabricated itself. if you want a fast car with a body kit, get something else [8D]

Not after a fast car, I'm trying to save a '69 Mustang from the crusher. The car needs all new flooring, patch panels in the doors and quarter panels, the engine is gone, leaving a lot of work. Since it is not a numbers matching car, I'm at a point of trying to build this back original, or making a restro-mod. Just trying to see what options that are out there.

Hmm. Interesting how a fair number of Mustangs I've heard seem to always be "found in a field".

I also have a '69 and I looked for an Eleanor kit, but they don't make one. They do however make a shelby kit at Maier Racing (510) 581-7600 or mairracing.com. They make hoods, and other custom parts. Good luck!
