didn't mean to do the double up on the front piece - at least I have gotten that stripped and when I fix the shock tower we are going with McMaster industrial epoxy paint in gloss black (a friend of mine uses this stuff at his pharma test labs on boilers and the stuff is more chip resistant than powdercoating). Here is the underbody with bed liner and subframe photos. I will take photos of the rear inner tub that I finished today - stripped to metal and coated

Looks very solid.

Those are some pretty large holes in the shock towers, however. Are you going to replace them or try to patch them?

thanks guys. Ya, the shock tower is going to require some work - I was thinking to try and weld the shock towers first, then grind flat and then weld in a supporting piece of sheet metal and weld that to the shock tower - thinking about a 4x6 or so piece of sheet metal to go side to side and a few inches above and below the holes. I would rather not replace the shock tower........

The holes were cut to allow access to grease the joints. Mine has the same thing but are much smaller than that. If you replace them, unless you are going for concours, Id still cut the holes but make them smaller and more professional looking...

agreed, what do you think of the torn areas where the upper control arm goes? lovin' the project, albeit hot and dirty stuff doing this in LA in the summer
