Rear Suspension Suggestions?
hey, i've got a 66 coupe. Itook off the rear suspension and it's not looking to well, so i decided im going to buy new leaf springs and shocks. now, what do you guys have in your cars, what do you recommend. suggestions? thanks.
I can answer the first.
I run 5 leaf mid eye (soon to be swapped out for a 3 link), watts link, kyb gas adjust shocks, and shelby under rider traction bars.
I can't answer the second part, because
1. I don't know what you want to do with the car
2. I don't know what you have done to the front suspension

im going to eventually do an engine swap for a 5.0, and so far i havent done anything to the front suspension (stock). but i do plan on putting in a hub to hub front suspension from macgyvers

Stock is 4 leaf standard eye. If you want the rear a little lower than the mid eye or even the reverse eye is what you want. The 5 leaf is quite a bit stiffer than stock, so if you want that jarring effect when you hit a bump, then upgrade to a 5 leaf. Generaly speaking, the KYB gas adjust shocks are the best bang for the buck no matter what suspension upgrades you go with. Koni's are very good shocks in that you can manually adjust the stiffness, but they are very expensive.
