what do yall guys think about http://www.treperformance.com short block
Im thinking about getting this short block http://www.treperformance.com/Block/Ford357w.html and i have some world product heads and a wieland intake i know i spelled the intake wrong
Like it says, good for a stockish application. I wouldn't go too big on the cam, either. Upgrade the bearings for sure, but you don't have to make them do that.
to start with what kind of block is this Block: .030 over TREperformance 351w block and what do they do to it and what kind of warranty do they come with.
It may be a good short block like i posted before I would ask about the block there is nothing wrong with a seasoned block just don't claim its something else. We use seasoned blocks on most of our crate engines but we call them what they are. And no you can't get a 351 short block from us because they are hard to come by and every one we get is a roller block and sold as a complete engine but, just in case you are wondering who I work for here is the link. http://tandlengines.com/
mustanglover, what do you actually do there? builder? machinist? etc?
i worked here: http://www.titanengines.com/ using my favorite toy all day

they went to **** though, all the talent left this place within like 6 months (myself, the other head shop guy, and the builder) and now its a joke .... dont buy from this place LOL

balancing always tripped me out, with the flashing strobes and what-nots. i watched em do it 100 times but i couldnt do it if ya asked me to. obviously matching the weight of the pistons, small and big ends of the rods is easy enough. calculating the weight and putting that weight on the crank in preparation i get.... after that (once its spinnin) i get lost LOL
you guys have a cam grinder? i used to get stuck back there once in a while and thats about the most boring job in the whole world.
oh yeah, and someone mentioned 1500 for a short block... if you cant get a 351w Shorted for 1500 the world is a ugly place.
i would think on a 351, stock crank and rods, hyper. flattop pistons, moly rings, good bearings, a decent cam and a quality double roller chain should be the start to a awsome street motor and shouldnt cost all that much
