Default Dash pads

Guys I need a replacment dash pad for my Mach. I found a few sites and its $276.95 for repro factory ones and $109.95for 'Highway Classics' high quality repro's. Why the price difference guys?

the repros arent as good quality and might not fight perfect.

IMO its not even worth it for the original tooling ones. the repros are fine.

Well the car will sit either under a carport or in a garage so not alot of direct sunlight. If they are really made of horrible materials then I'm not going togo cheap. However, if the cheaper oneslook decent and line up ok I'll gowith those.....anyone bought some cheaper dash pads and did they line up ok?

quality is not always the concern!!^^^^^fitment is!!!! trust me the cheaper ones often need a crow bar and hammer to put in place[&:]

I am looking to pick up a new dash pad too. A lot of places sell the "dashes direct" made ones. They advertise they are excellent quality and use original ford tooling parts. Not sure how they measure up against the cheaper ones. Materials is another thing to look at, you don't want the cheapest thing around if it is a peice of dung.

Have not done it yet but that day will come.

From what I gather from reading prior posts, it is worth the extra money to buy the original Ford tooling just for the ease of fitting. Other posts have stated that the repros can give fitting headaches and takes a lot more time and effort. Dealer's choice - That my $0.02.

I've got one of the thermoformed plastic covers on mine right now until I decide to go all the way and get one of the OE tooling ones. It looks very nice and nearly everyone I've shown it to has been surprised when I pull it off and show them the original dash.

The parts catalogs have them with all the dash pads, they call them dash pad covers. Good solution for the $60-70 they cost. I'd recommend them for a quick fix until you decide you want to go all the way, mine fit like a glove.

Hello,

I have a 1973 Mustang MACH1 years, and need to replace the dash pad, but could not remove the old piece of the place.
How do I remove the dash pad on my car?
Thanks.
