Default check it out. update.

ive got about 80% of the paint stripped. i started stripping my driver door but remember its toast. the whole inside underneath on the round corner is all rusted out and gone. so ive gotta find a new door. it wasnt original anyway so i never had a door tag. and someone tried to cut the little flare off the fenders so i bought a new fender all primed and ready for paint but it doesnt fit for beans. so i think im going to cut up the new fender to repair the original one that already fits perfectly ya know.

If you're talking about the wheel opening flares, that's what I did with my back fenders. I just cut the flare out of some repro panels and used them to patch the bad parts of the original fenders. Works great. Where the flare tucks under to form the lip the repro part was a little more rounded that it should have been but you can fix that with a little hammering and small amount of filler. Your floors look really nice. Are they new?

yup all floors are new. welded em in myself. even though the bottom would catch fire from all the grease[:@].

heres a picture of the fender. its standing up on its end. the dotted red line is where they cut out. i will just replace that with the section from my new fender. dont mind the yellow, i messed up on it. since they cut it out they just formed the whole thing with bondo. on the flare part it was thicker than 1" of bondo. dumbass ghetto-fabbers.

your car is looking pretty stripped! What size wheels are you putting on it they look like 18s to me. What are you gonna replace the fender with rust with a fiberglass or metal reproduction?

im gonna keep my fenders. they arent rusted really. the rust you see is just slight surface rust. ill just repair my old ones since they already fit nice and my new one doesnt fit at all.

the wheels are 17x8 05 bullits. i dont like em. but theyll do until i get new ones.

which reminds me....

how often does everyone change or get new wheels? i will have my car for 2 years in september and when i get new wheels by then it will be my 4th set.

Yeah, that's exactly what happened to my flares in the back. Looked pretty good when i was done and almost no bondo. Just where the fender and patch actually join and a little where I need to sharpen up the rounded edge. I useda bigpiece of paper taped to the damaged fender and a sharp knife to cut the exact shape I needed and then taped the paper template to the repro fender to mark a cut for the patch. First two pictures are the template and the third is the finished product.

its a 1930 model A. my dad got it when he was 12. almost 38 years ago. his dad gave it to him and he semi-restored it and drove it to high school. then about 15 years ago he tore it down competely cause he diddnt like the job he did and its been sittin either in our garage or on the side of the house since then. the motor is fresh and has 0 time on it so all we need to do it put it together and drive it. but the wood work is so hard and frustrating.
