Default cd player

i wanted to ask u guys out there how do u guys have a cd player in ur classic stangs.. i used to have a sony that wasnt detachable.. because of that the front screen always had a lil movie or just like the factory messages going up and down the the front screen. it wouldnt turn off even when i took of the key.. i was wondering that if i get one with a detachable face will it cut the power? or do i have to hook it up somehow that it wont keep draining my battery after i park it...

not trying to be rude, but there is no other way to say it:

There's two wire for radio power ones from the key the other is a memory wire that keeps your presets and clock from messing up.You need to put a test light on both if the memory wire turns off with the key you got them backwards.
