Default Shifter Plate

Hey all I bought an NOS shifter plate for my 65 Fastback, the problem is I have a Hurst shifter and was hoping that maybe someone on this site
has both the plate and Hurst shifter installed in there car! My issue is I cant see the screw holes and I dont want to cut the carpet unless I know for sure the shifter handle wont hit my NOS shifter Plate! Anybody have this setup in their stang? If you look at the picture it looks like it will work, but I need to know if the holes line up and the shifter wont hit my plate! Any way of doing this, maybe I just need someone looking from the outside to see what I'm missing here!

By LOOKING at it. It looks ok. As long as it is centered you dhouldn't be a problem. And if you take a drill and bit, it wouldn't mess the carpet up. Try and hold the bezel down firm, and shift into all the gears. If it doesn't hit your in good shape.

I have the same shifter as you, but I`ve bought a Hurst shifter plate and boot, and now I can`t find my original Ford shifter plate so I can`t try this out for you, but I know that the hole in the Hurst shifter plate is larger than in the original plate.
However, like 6mustang6 wrote, it LOOKS like it will fit.
To be sure, remove the boot from the shifter, then its easier to see if you have enogh space. (use some kind of masking tape to protect the NOS plate). Get a friend to hold the plate firmly against the floor while you shift. You need to have some clearence (for the boot, and for any vibrations). Also remember that when putting the car in reverse, you need to press the Hurst shifter quite a bit to the left.
