What's up with the ratings?

I was a 4th Gear member, then a Senior member, now a 3rd Gear member... Doesn't really matter but where can I find an explanation - if any?

Join the club! I was a Junior (3rd gear member), but now I've slid back a year to Sophomore status (2nd gear member)...any mods around that can explain?

They were removed during the move, we have enabled them again and once you make your first post in tech, you get the name back

They changed each gear title's post limit. For example, before the change, 4th Gear Member was achieved at XXX posts....now its a little higher.
