Ford 351M engine for sale. Mild performance build

Ford 351M engine for sale. Mild performance build

I built this engine a while back for a standby extra for the 400 in my 1976 Ford F-150 4X4. I ended up selling the truck about 8 years ago but I kept this engine and just have never done anything with it. I’m doing more with diesels now so this will have to go so I can free up another engine stand. I built this with off-road 4X4 performance in mind but this can be adapted quite easily for mild street duty. The induction setup on the 400 was a tunnel ram with dual 525cfm Barry Grant Demons. This engine was equipped with a single 650cfm Demon on a high rise but I have since sold the carb and intake. If you want it I might be able to get the current owner to sell it. I had this engine partially disassembled and for sale so the new owners could see what they are getting but due to past requests I have recently finished assembling this engine so the new owner has only to install his induction combination, choice of fuel pump, and electrical components and he is ready to go. I used to mount the radiator in the bed of the truck and route my water lines in the frame rails to the back, there electric fans would push air and this setup would keep the radiator protected and out of the mud. Also all of the pulleys and belts are deleted and I would use a serpentine setup. Included are all the factory pulleys, fan, new rubber engine insulators and steel frame to engine mounts. Also the manual transmission flywheel and pressure plate is included. I have a good condition OE water pump for it and will include it but its use is strictly your discretion and installation.

Please note….this is a 2wd block that I have set up for 4x4. The original front dipstick hole that would normally be located on the front of the block is sealed and plugged and I have a rear sump pan for it with the rear sump pickup tube for the oil pump installed to clear the front axle on 4X4 applications. If your truck is 2wd then you will need to procure a front sump pan from a salvage yard, dipstick, short pickup tube for the pump, and flex plate if you have an automatic transmission. Those parts will run you at the most $50 but more likely $20 if you pull them yourself.
Still you will have a new engine with more pep than stock for less than what you would pay otherwise.

The headers are specifically for 1973-79 F-150 pickups with manual transmission linkages. The driver’s side unit is pulled in and forward specifically for this application. YOU CAN use them with automatic transmissions or to drop this engine into another vehicle with manual or automatic setup but will be exceptionally easy for manual transmission applications.

I pulled this engine from a low mile 1978 2wd F-150 that was totaled with 34,876 miles on the odometer so it is a fairly fresh block.
I have in it:

New Federal Mogul main and rod bearings
Aluminum flat top pistons with chrome rings
New Crane 262 cam with new thrust plate
New Federal Mogul cam bearings
New lifters with cam
New heavyweight pushrods from Competition Cams
New roller timing set
New high volume oil pump with new sending unit
New 4X4 pickup tube for oil pump
New brass expansion plugs and galley plugs
New heads with new stainless valves and double valve springs with new rotators
New custom headers with collector flanges and gaskets included ready to weld to your pipes
New Fel-Pro gaskets installed and block sealed (my engines are waterproof for submersion)
New pair of engine insulators
All pulleys, fan, water pump, and flywheel with pressure plate

$650

Will deliver for an additional $50 within a certain mileage range.
