WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS 289????
I want to keep my 67 stang as original as i can. It has the original 289 with 112,00 miles... it's been sitting for about 1 1/2 years and i know it turns over... the problem is, I want to push 350 to 400 hp... is this possible with a 289, if not, then what size engine should i put into it... i've been told 351w would get the job done. But keeping in mind i want to keep it original. please help, and thank you for any input..

you can get the hp out of a 289 or you can stroke it out but the heads are gonna give you a problem if you want to stay stock and put out that kind of hp.
personaly if that is the original motor for the car i would store it and build a good 302 based motor with good heads and intake.
