Default Whining noise can anyone help

I have a 98 Cobra. When I am in 4th and 5th gear, my cobra makes a whining noise if I let off the accelerator it stops but as soon as I give it some gas it starts back up again. Does anyone have any idea what it might be.

No it sounds like its coming from my shifter. In addition to that I dont know if my shocks are done or what but it also makes a squeaking noise when I hit a bumb or something. Not to mention its a pretty rough ride

is it lowered? the noise could sound like its coming from the shifter iff its the rearend whining. if not maybe the trans needs fluid. id say check all the fluids and if youre springs have been altered they might ride rough. and squeak

I really cant tell you if its lowered or not. It seems low. I bought it as is. And dont really know the specs on it. But I have roughly two and a half inches or clearance. On top of it I have low pros on it, and some deep dish rims. So most likely it is lowered. So its something that I should get checked out right away then?

well...i have my springs heated to lower my car and its ruining my ride so im going to order some springs for it. but it shouldnt hurt the car but i would get a set of springs when you get a chance. and after you check the fluids in the tranny and rearend you may find that your fluids are low. if theyre not, depending on how loud this whining is, then you might want to take it to someone to look at but it really sounds like you might just need some new fluids.

Mine has the same whining is some gears, but it's when I let off of the accelerator and it goes away when I give it some gas. I was also told to check the fluid in the tranny. It's going to be looked into more if that doesn't help solve anything. I'll keep you posted if I found anything out before you get the chance.
