determining gears by axle/shaft rotation
how many times will the driveshaft turn in relavance to the axle, with 3.73 or 4.10 gears and whats the easiest way to go about this method?
or when taking off the girdle how many teeth will be on 3.73 or 4.10
looking to buy a rear people are selling but i will never trust word of mouth about gears. please help

Mark the driveshaft or in this case the the flange and spin on side of the axle. If it goes around 4 times it's 4.10 if it doesn't quite make it to 4 times it's close to 3.73. On most aftermarket gear sets the ratio is stamped on the outer edge of the ring gear.

or if you pull off the cover count the teeth on the ring gear and then count the teeth on the pinion gear and divide the ring gear by the pinion gear example 41 ring gear/ 10 pinion = 4.10 gears
