RE: The Big 5.0L Swap
its not worth it, are you a V-6 or a GT? dont matter, its still not worth it, if its a 6er, go get twin turbos or a procharger kit, if its a 99-04 GT then it has aboot 50 more HP then the 5.0,
you will need, motor mounts, tranny, suspention, driveshaft, if its a 6er you will need an 8.8 inch rear end, plus all the computer crap that you have to deal with

The only reasonable reason, is if you were building a purpose built racecar with a big cube small block. Just add a power adder if you've already got a GT, if you have a 6 cylinder it would be cheaper to just sell yours and buy a GT.

2000 v6 5-speed. From what I've heard, as long as I'm planning to do away with FI, all I'd really need I could already find on a 5.0, and that it'd mate to my trans with a new bell housing. Minimal headache. Then there was talk about a 351w...

if its a 2000 V-6 then dont touch the motor,

this guy is running twin turbos and 17 psi of boost, putting down around 430 rwhp, you could also get a 11 psi procharger kit from there with a custom SCT tune, if you decide to do this i would also say you could keep the stock 7.5 inch rear and add 3.73 gears and a detroit true trac or auburn posi
http://tmaturbo.com/
or get a turbo, you can get down into the 13s with just 8 psi, this is what i would recomend, however i would reccomend more then 8 psi of boost to atleast get you into the 12s, for this i would recomend gettting a mach 1 rear end or a GT rear end, the mach 1 would already have 3.55 gears in it, and the GT would have 3.27s, i would recomend 3.55 gears and either a detroit true track or auburn posi again
in short, it is not worth it to do the swap, you will need motor mounts, tranny, plus all the computer stuff to make it run right
