Default 1994-1995 T5 Transmission

Is there any difference between the 3.8L and the 5.0L transmission? I am talking about the 1994-1995 T5 Transmission.

Well now i'm doubting myself. The only reason i am thinking its differnet is because my friend has a 94 5 spd and says its not a t5. He said is a tremec something. But now i'm gonna drive myself crazy untill i know for sure.

there is a t5 transmission in both the 5.0L and 3.8L mustangs. Tremec is just the company who makes t5 transmissions. it used to be borg warner but Tremec bought them out.

For anyone wanting to know the answer to my question, (i found it on 3.8mustang forums)

The trannies are different but are interchangable. The 5.0 has a higher torque rating than the 3.8. They can be interchanged though. Good news for me.

Well some are right but mostly wrong.

I blew 3 trannies in my 95' Sixer. The transmission is called a T5-0D and has a 3/8" longer input shaft. So unless you want your throwout bearing wear out quick I would suggest getting the correct matching transmission. Btw if you are looking for a transmission I bought my 4th T5-0D from Ford new and put it in my mustang. It was in it for less than 500mi before the engine died. Very smooth transmission. If you dont need a V6 trans I have a mod trans, a TK3665 that has 0 miles on it, it was from a crash test car, trans is perfect but I want a TKO600 for my mach1 build, not the TK3665.

Hope I helped a little.
