its good that you have some miles on your motor anyway, you dont want to try and break in a motor with synthetics. now is the time to switch if thats the way your going

What to use depends on your car, my friend used to use 20/50 in his 90GT and it made it run smoother. If you're engine's kinda loose, like gaps from wear or slighly low compresion a higher weight oil can help that some. I ran that last summer and it ran good but I don't think I really need it. I'm back to 10/30 Mobil 1 in mine now.

I use MOBIL 1 oil filters as well.
I switched to synthetics and this MOBIL 1 has me hooked for life.I wont be using anything but mobil 1.I really like it.The motor even runs cooler.Actually by about 10 degrees.

I use Mobil 1, I buy a box (6Qt) in Kmart for $23.95 and then I get a K&N oil filter for $9.95 and chage it myself.. so far the best oil-filter combo ever (acording to my mechanic and many racers)

Actually..there are a few cars that come with synthetic motor oil from the factory. The only prollem switching to syn. oil after awhile is if you have a weak seal, synthetic oil will make it start leaking possibly if the seal is loose or weak because it flows so much free-er ( is that a word ?lol)...i worked at a Fast Lube for 10 years...and the oil companies told us that if the oil wasnt black when you changed it at 3,000 miles...then it wasnt doing its job...so if you go 3,000 before you change oil...and its pretty clear....its definatly not doing its job...myself i run Castrol 10-30 in mine ..... i will switch to synthetic after i replace my valve cover gaskets.Down here in the south, i have never even heard of Amsoil...so i dont know much about it...also Quaker State i see has no votes lol...if only people knew the misconception behind that one....because i have seen well over 1,000 cars that has used that every since they got it new and a few has over 300,000 miles on it ..... Havoline is also pretty popular down here as well,Pennzoil to....although i never have heard the wax one before so i must say that i found that one kind of humorous lol ... no offense in no way at all on that either .... just offering up my 2 cents...Jamie

your right about leaks if you have one my aLL MEANS don't change to syth oil til it's taken care of.....as for quaker state has a bad rap with oil sludging the drain oils in ford heads this I know myself but that could have been that oil changes were done like every 10k but that was years ago ....mobil1 filter has good test rating only reason I like amsoil aka hasting filter as I went to an amsoil filter test that proved what they claim...

What do you mean by that?
I have ran all kinds of oils through my cars and MOBIL 1 is by far the best that ive came across!Really good oil.Ive never used castrol so i cant comment.
Also ive asked around at every parts store here and no ones heard of AMSOIL.We do have hastings filters and wix but no amsoil.
