what is the difference between wax and car polish?

RE: wax vs non wax
Wax is meant to protect the paint, polish is made to make it shine and hide small imperfections.

car wax protect your paint from the sun, weather, and other stuff.
Car polish is just going to make your car shine real nice but isnt as good as wax. I would only use high quality wax that protects your paint. |

RE: wax vs non wax
Wax adds to the surface of the paint, thereby making it smoother by filling in imperfections
Polish strips off tiny amounts of the clear coat, thereby making it smoother by grinding out imperfections |

i would wash the car, then claybar the car, then wash it again and then put wax on it. That would be the best way to get your car looking good, while keep car of the paint.
