Default newb question

hey guys . . could any of u answer a quick question for me? My buddy whos liek all into tracking his car always finds sumthing to pick on me about if i dont know what it is., and he makes me figure it out by myself . . .either looking it up or asking on forums. So could any of you tell me what a coil over is and what it does? Thanks guys . . .sorry for being a newb lol. . . hoope u can expand my knowledge

it's a coil that goes over the plug

replaces the coil pack or for older older guys... the distributer.

Was your friend referring to an engine component or a suspension component? I've never heard of the above definition, but I do know that coilovers are adjustable springs that allow you to raise to lower your ride height without having to replace the springs or adjust the struts.
