top loader into 69 Mach 1 351w
Any help would be much appreciated. There's not a lot of choice for info in Australia.
Problem 1. I've installed the toploader in place of the FMX auto. Now I have a vibration even when the car is stationary. Do I need a externally balanced harmonic Balancer now to fix this? Is the 28 oz the correct one?
problem 2. The starter motor drags (partially engages) while the motor is running. Do I need a spacer to move the starter back and out of the way?
Thanks for any help I can get.
cheers

Is your flywheel a 28 oz imbalance? Did you change the flexplate to a flywheel?
As for the starter motor, there are shims that you can buy to move it further away

Waxyourboard, Thanks for your response. I appreciate any advice or assistance you can offer.
I got the flywheel with the gearbox, both pre-loved of course. I removed the flex plate and stall converter obviously but kept the same harmonic balancer on the front. I've got no idea what imbalance the flywheel is in fact, I just noted that some replacement harmonic balancers were advertised as 28 oz. The vibration is felt when the car is stationary and the motor is revved above idle. I'm guessing that the flywheel is the most obvious cause. I'd really like to avoid taking the gearbox out again as I have promised a friend he could use the car at his wedding in a couple of weeks time.
I've got a spacer now for the starter motor problem and it should be rectified.
Thanks
