I have a 1998 mustang v6. I am looking at lowering the car, I would like to do 1.5" in the front and 2" in the rear. For the next little while I will have the stock suspension though

I was wondering what rim sizes would fit. I would like to use 18x8.5 or an 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear, would be willing to use 17" wheels if this was the only option. Would this fit with the lowered suspension, also what tire sizes would I need, as well as wheel offset, backspacing etc.

Ay info at all would be greatly appreciated.

Would either of these setups work?

1) 18x9.5" 245/40/18
offset of 35, and bolt pattern 5x114.3

2)front 18x8.5 245/40/18
rear 18x9.5 275/35/18
offest of 35, also 5x114.3 bolt pattern

my car is a 94, and it has been lowered. I went with the 17 x 9 and 275/40/17, and its close to rubbing when I turn the wheels all the way.

Interesting note on backspacing... to know the backspace on any wheel with a known offset: ((width+1)/2)+(offset/25.4)=backspace in inches (you can also subtract the offset to find frontspacing ).

The 18x8.5 245/40/18 fronts, are very close to the same diameter and everything as your 17 x 9 and 275/40/17, and on a smaller rim, so I am thinking the might work.

Anyone know any better if setup #2 I posted would work?

Im surprised someone on here wouldnt know, should I try post this in a different section of the forum?

I would really like to use this setup. Will this setup rub, or hit the fenders, or stick out too far with the offset. I would be ordering online so I need to get some sort of idea before I order.

Lowering 2" front, 1.5" rear with the eibach springs.
