well this kinda sucks i work at a ford dealer and i can't find the damned ratio for overdrive in my aod,,the spec books show what it is for an A4LD but not the aod,,, i would like to calculate my axle ratio but i have to have an exact # on the OD ratio.

so if anyone knows that would be helpfull

Well dude not sure the year of your stang but you should have an axle ID tag on your differential.... It should tell you gear ratio.... If no info on OD ratio try looking up AOD specs, either online or in a CHilton... sorry cant be of more help

think the OD tranny ratio is 0.65:1 but not able to find it in my 88 shop manual either. most AOD's came with a 2.73 rear axle ratio from the factory. look on the id tag on the door post, under AX, the code 8 or M =2.73 Y or Z=3.08 F or R=3.45 5 or E=3.27 6 or W=3.73 2 or K=3.55

i know i have a 2.73 gear,,and i have read an axle tag or two,,,i am a ford certified rearend tech,,,but our spec books suck *** and i figured somebody had a different reference that said for sure, .65 sounds good though, so i will go with that

and yeah mine is an 88 lx aod
