I want to trace , my cars history , I know it was built in Metuchen , N.J.and delivered to Richmond Virginia , I bought it in San Jose , C.A. can anyone tell me how to get the history , it is a 1970 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet

Do a carfax report on it...... Or try getting ahold of previous owners.... I think theres a way to look up old Bill of sales w/ maybe MVD, or a VIN number.....

car fax will not come up for this car......you can call ford in detroit and trace it down....there are several car redistries that can find this out for you some times a small fee is involved

I seriously doubt there is any way to track the history on a car this old as computers were not in use for stuff like this when it was made. Ford did have an assembly plant in New Jersey, but I thought it was in Edison,NJ, but it hard to tell where the hell you are up there.
I live in Richmond and could get you the names and phone numbers of the major Ford dealers that were around back then if you think that would help you. Send me a PM.

I have checked the vin nos ,and it was made in Metuchen, and shipped to Richmond,if you could give me the info on the dealers of Mustangs during the 1970s I sure would appreciate it , my e-mail is hmcnab@frontiernet.net I think someone blew the eng. and I now have a 1980 block, but all the correct insides , the block is identified with an E 8 and a W1 , thanks for your help Hank
