I am a novice when it comes to working on my Mustang. I have a leaky differential and I'm going to replace the gasket. Anything I should pay special attention to?
Nope pretty easy. Just clean both surfaces really good. Be careful when you pry of the cover you don't want to put a gouge on the surface. I always put silicone sealer on both sides of the gasket to help make sure I get no leaks. Also a good time to clean up the cover and paint it with black high temp paint (keeps it looking nice)
actually you dont use a gasket, just silicone ive been using just that for 6 years and everyone i know does it and ive never had a leak
diff gaskets suck
