Hey guys first time posting and im hoping some one may know whats up.....last night coming home my lil cousin "ran over a curb"..... at least that his story..... now im getting this ver bad "popping" sensation and sound coming from the back of the car...I "think" it might be the diff or the bearings not sure.... any ideas on any tests i can do to help me narrow this down or any past experiences that might be helpful? by the way its a 97 gt vert.....thanks a million for reading guys.....

I had a popping noise in the rear and it turned out to be a bolt on my control arm. Might want to check all the suspension parts first.

i might consider that except that i get this sound rolling forward .... i put the car in drive i get a strong clunk and pop ...then as i life my foot off the brake and DO NOT PRESS THE GAS, just let it roll forward it moves a foot or so then i get the pop, then roll some more and another poping feel and sound.....both in reverse as well.....this is just rolling on idle not even a whole MPH.......

So I guess it doesn't happen when you're sitting still? Could need an alignment or balancing...

well i pulled the diffs cover a lil while ago and found the spider gears stripped...about 3 teeth on top and botton....ugly sight...dont know if i should try to rebuild with a posi ir swapp in cobra rear end...any suggestions?
