Default Pleasure Auto Insurance

Anyone know of any insurance companies that offer discounted rates if you barley drive your car? I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling soon, and I'm finding it tough to justify paying $140 a month for my 97 GT vert to drive it a couple times a month. Thanks in advance.

Additional Info: I'm 23 and still under my parent's multi-car policy with progressive.

Default RE: Pleasure Auto Insurance

If you don't owe anyone money on the car you should qualify to just carry liability coverage only. You can raise the deductable or lower the mileage limits. This should save you something.BEWARE,liability ins.pays nothing if the car is damaged or destroyed by anything other than a wreck where the other driver is at fault.A hit and run can reduce your car to the value of scrap iron.
Some specialty companies will write policies for collector cars based on the mutually agreed value of the car but this is usually for show cars and antiques, and it's not cheap either.
You can expect to pay increased amounts untill you get older,at 25 years old you should see a decrease in your rates.

A truism that was revealed to me by an old swamp witch:
Age is the bread in a **** sandwich, the more age you have the less **** you have to eat.
I've found this to be very accurate,I'm 46 and only have to eat about a tablespoonfull a day.
