REAR STUDS BRAKING OFF MY COBRA, WHY????
A week ago I took my car in to a tire co. across the st. because it was making funny sound... well, this was due to 3 studs that broke off, 2 on left and 1 on right, all rear. why did this happen, the tech said because of the cars torque all those hard take offs burnin tire and stuff but is that possible??? what to do to avoid this from happing again?

Wouldn't be the first time it has happened. But I do have a couple of questions to ask to help with the issue.
Have you gotten you tires changed or rotate in the past month?
Do you use a wheel spacer or lug adaptors?

if your lug nuts are tight and the studs are install properly, i really doubt doing burnouts and hard launches are going to keep braking them thats crazy. i'm not saying that its not possible, but people launch there are cars so hard that it feels the bodys going to twist in half but the studs are fine, thats what i'm gettin at. i think there just trying to get out of it with an excuse.

you would be surprised to see how many rear studs get broken by doing hard launches with the stock studs. best advice I have for you is to get some high quality aftermarket studs and make sure they are torqued to the proper spec when you install the wheels. Summit and Jegs both have these studs for easy mail order buying. they're good insurance if you're going to keep on doing those hard launches!
