Hey guys, my T-45 continues to grind when I shift into 2nd at higher RPM's. I changed out the tranny fluid to all synthetic to see if that would help, and no dice. What should I do with this thing. I have heard some try syncromesh and this fixes the problem but its not "recommended" in a T-45.

Should I have this one rebuilt? I can drop the tranny and take it to a transmission place for rebuild but what will that cost?
Would I be better off just buying a new tranny compared to having my current one rebuilt?

My ulitmate goal for the car is around 350 HP with no racing of any type...just a daily driver. Thanks.

not sure what your budget is but rebuilding a t45 is probably a waste, I have one right now in my gt Going to run in itno the ground before i change it. You could try and get a used t5 or tr 3550 they are both better than t45 but TKO 500 would be the best, it is a t5 rebuilt alot stronger.

I rebuilt my T45 myself for under $300... about $120 in parts and then $100 to have a shop press a few parts on and off... all the other cost was my time.

Honestly tho if you have the $ upgrade... I didn't and don't yet so I'm limping this trans along until it blows up
