Default baby seat in 02 gt

Hi, this is 1st post here, and I not quite sure which forum I should be in but here it goes.
I brought my new son home from the hospital yesterday. The baby seat my wife bought doesn't fit very well. She ended up sitting behind me, ( I'm 6'4"), and it was more comfy (for her) than sitting in the front. My wife loves her car, and was 100% against selling her car, until now. Does anyone have any suggestions for mustang friendly baby seats?

the best thing i could tell you is go back out shopping for 1 and have the mustang with you. That way you could check and make sure everything fits fine. I have a 91 tang and never had a problem with our baby seat and we've used it 2 times now. I'm also not as tall as you thogh im only 5'6" so i'm quite a bit shorter

This baby seat is huge! Wife is 5'2", had the seat all the way forward, seatback all the way up , and the baby seat just barely fit.

I tried sticking a baby seat into the back of my '02 GT vert once.. there are anchors back there for one but the baby seat needed the seatbelt to be threaded thru it & then clenched down. Problem was, I couldn't figure out how the make the seatbelt retractor to lock into one spot so, we could use my car that day. Oh well, at least I didn't have to clean out baby spit & drool from out of my car eaither

If your car has the seat belt anchors put the seat in the middle and use 2 anchors that are closer to the middle of the car. It gets much easier when they do not have to be facing the rear. I actualy find it easier to put my son in the mustang than in my wifes 4 door.

???explain this. The car does have 2 places w/ an anchor in the back window, but how do I use them? The quick detach base is out of the question, it won't fit, it is too long, front to back. the seat alone will work, IF I can figure out how to fasten it.

I don't know how the newer Mustangs are but on most newer cars there are also anchor spots in the seats and and the rear deck. If your car does not have the anchors that are in the seat what I said will not work. let me know if you have them and I will explain more

I just noticed you said the quick connect base will not work. You probably do not want to put the carrier in there with out the base you have to have the carrier at a certain angle and that will be hard without the base.
