Intermittently won't crank - blinker-like sound indicates won't work
Hi,
I'm having a strange problem with a 1995 Mustang I just acquired. It intermittently won't start. However, when I sit down in the driver seat, I have a clue if it won't start because I'll hear this blinker like sound coming from somewhere inside the car. I can't hear it under the hood, so I think it's somewhere on the interior side of the firewall. After awhile, that sound will go away, and I'll try to start it and it starts no problem. Sometimes, it will start for 3-4 days consecutively. Then, almost randomly, I'll go to start it and I'll hear that noise and it won't even try to start. All the auxilaries come on - indicator lights, clock, etc. - but no turn over at all. Same thing happens, I'll call AAA, I'll wait about 20 minutes, I'll try again and it will start - then I'll cancel AAA and go along my merry way for a few more days.
Any thoughts as to (a) what might be wrong and (b) what that sound is???
Probably unrelated, but the blinkers blink at different speeds when the car is on - even though all bulbs seem to be functioning...
Thanks for any help...

I've heard the same sound in my car too. Its almost like a constant beeping for like 10-15 seconds right ?? I think mine comes on because I dont have the airbags in my car, and the computer and crash sensors were removed as well; but it still starts. You need to take that one to the dealership or a shop that specializes in Fords/Mustangs, because I could never find where it was coming from.
