How to paint my car
 

Hey everyone,

I got a white 01 convert and i would really like to paint it black or red. I see it costs about 3000 to proffessionaly paint it. Yikes! that's too much 4 me. How much would it cost to do it yourself and how hard is it?:)

i did mine for like 600 so u would be around like mayb 500-1200 or so to paint it urself and it is defffffinatly not easy

Live is right about the cost. It depends a lot on the quality of materials you want to use. Painting a car is not something I would recommend doing unless you have someone there to help you thats done it before. Trust me, I messed up a couple of cars when I was learning. Painting isnt something you can do in a few hour or days, it takes many hours of prep work. Sanding, priming, sanding, repriming, fixing any dents you have. Also, you talked about a color change. this takes even longer as you have to paint the inside of the doors, engine bay, inside trunk so the whole car will be the same color and you wont ever be able to get everything under the hood unless the motor is out. When i paint one now, i have about 40 or more hours tied up in it and thats one that doesnt need any major body work.

Im not trying to discourage you, I just want you to know what your getting into before you start. But it is nice taking a car to a show or cruising around town and getting comments from people then telling them you painted the car all by yourself :D

look at it this way the car was painted from the factory how much money of the cost of the new car was paint? 3000 is not that expensive once u start prepping the car ull understand why it cost 3000+ to do it its not like overhaulin it doesnt happen over night
