When I turn my car on and try to shift into reverse, the button on the shift column won't push in. It works if I just barely turn the key and then shift to neutral, then turn the car on and shift to reverse. Also, when I have my cruise control on and I engage the brake, the engine revvs and the car lurches, as if I've put it in neutral. Is this a linkage problem, maybe?

Do your brake lights come on when you push the brakes in? I know on my F150 the brake lights wouldn't come on, cruise control wouldn't work, and some people have had problems with shifting in reverse. I don't know bout on your car, but my truck they all were powered from one fuse.
