1968 conv. squeaky / popping suspension

I have a 1968 Conv. that has had the front suspension changed out. The upper and lower control arms w/ball joints, all the bushings, and new shocks. It now has a squeaky and popping sound after about 5 miles of driving. I am at whits end on this one. Is there anyone out there that might be able to help me out? The car now sits about 2" higher in the front than before.....is that normal with all these new parts?

Thanks mustangdebbie.

the popping sound is that your control arm bushings are in need of grease. Hopefully they installed grease fittings when they did the work. ALso, your car probably had the original tired, worn springs/suspension, so installing new springs is going to raise the height of the car. Get some grease on those bushings and you should be fine.

Hi:
Thanks. I reused the old springs, greased all the new joints, but was told not to put any grease on the poly bushings. Shoud I tear it all back down again and reassemble using grease on the poly bushings?

not sure about grease on poly. Wondering why theyre binding though? You may have to recheck the installation. The binding may be restricting the control arm to the point where it is affecting the height of the car.
