Default Street Scoops & Temp Gauge

Two things:

1. I have a 351W carb'ed on my fox body. I was looking at those street scoops (like what summit sells) with the three "butterflies" on them, that look all hot-rod style and all that. If I put one of those on, 1. How do I keep a good seal around it? (keeping debris and water off my engine) 2. Can I drive in the rain???

2. Temp gauge doesn't work. I tried grounding the sending unit and nothing happened. Any ideas? It will move slightly between the blank area and 130 deg. Lastly, my speedo once in a blue moon won't work. If I just bang on the glass, it flies up to the regular speed and no further problems. Any more ideas?

1. Personally, I don't like 'em and wouldn't recommend running one.

2. Stock temp gauge? Stock speedo? Sounds like you're due for a new instrument cluster.

For the temp gauge, try a new sender first. The speedo will be a bit more of a problem. You could get an aftermarket speedo and mount it separately for now, or learn to drive by the tach.
