RE: Alum. Flywheel on Daily Driver
Yep, I'm going to be getting some suspension crap along with the clutch
I'm getting
Upper/Lower Rear Control arms
a G-Trac bar
and a lighter front sway bar
what else should i get?
And I thought with an aluminum flywheel you'd feel a big difference from stock.
So should I get it or not? I'm gonna be replacing it and I thought this would be a great upgrade

RE: Alum. Flywheel on Daily Driver
you need to weight of a stock flywheel to keep the engine momentum going (like md said)...a aluminum flywheel can sometimes hurt performance rather than gain...its easy to spin, but you have to keep on spinning it and that takes power...a stock one will keep spinning somewhat on its own, waste of money...get slicks and you'll be in the 12's

the et's are a great tire......no use for the flywheel just get a alum driveshaft to cut down on rotating mass.....also some poly engine and trans mount as your wasting engine momentum

Mounts make a big difference Vfast?
I didn't think they were anything BUT mounts...
Does it make the passenger side suck down when I rev?
Love that look when i see a car do that.

well yes they do....you rubber one absorb some of the rotating mass....
the alum f'wheel hurts the car as far as rev'in it up and taking off as some car will bog. this becomes even more of a problem in street use..you could live with it..

RE: Alum. Flywheel on Daily Driver
I got an aluminum flywheel on my 289 with a mild street cam and it work good for me. I idle about 800 rpm. Yes it has steel teeth. As a daily driver it is ok. I have 25,000 miles on mine and it still work just fine. Oh yes, the rpm's come very fast. The small blocks are maded for that. If you want a slow and strong motor, go with a big block.
