Default 2001 GT badge question

Does anyone have any idea why my 2001 GT has regular mustang badges and not GT.I can't find any info. I bought it used, but I doubt the prev owner changed them

could be 3 things

1. he really did change the badges

2. its not a GT---check the engine[8D]

or

3. he did an engine swap

Or it came that way. Just because it's supposed to come with GT badges, doesn't mean it did. My 02 came with fender ponies too. More than likely the guy who puts them on at Ford (or loads the machine that puts them on) either ran out of GT badges or just used the wrong ones. It's not like the Ford Assembly Line people are infallible.
It happens. It just makes your car more "unique"....

It's definately a GT . There are a bunch of differences between the GT and V6 besides the motor. Especially the car codes and VIN. Yea either the wrong badges or the original owner wanted to create a sleeper from the side profile both could be it. I can't find any other possible reasoning.Thanx

My GT doesn't have GT badges, either. Didn't like 'em. Buy a used car adn you never know what's been changed.
