Frame Question

I had a wreck recently that bent the k frame. I just replaced it but it looks like the actual frame of the car got a little bent out of place too where I hit. You can tell from the pic the bolt holes are just a fraction of an inch from lining up. Can I just drill out new holes on the frame and bolt it up or is it really necessary to go have it pulled back out?

RE: Frame Question

Have it pulled back out.Anything that far out of tolerence ,should be fixed properly.Go get an opinion at a collission repair facility.

RE: Frame Question

Depends on how much money
you have and what you plan to
do with the car.
Everyday driver, drive till it drops-
just ream out the holes.

RE: Frame Question

An estimate is free.Any frame out by 3 cm. should be straightened. If you don't care about the car and just use it around town and plan to just drive it into the ground then it's up to you, isn't it.

RE: Frame Question

I want the car fixed right but at this point Im just trying to find the cheapest options. Ive already spent nearly a grand b/c of this wreck and it just seems everytime I turn around theres somthing else thats going to cost hundreds of dollars. It just seems crazy to go through all this just because I ran off the road. I did the same thing in a 95 Hyundai Sonata and didnt have any frame damage...

RE: Frame Question

If I read your post correctly you basically did not get your car put back into pre colision shape.Did the person you paid to straighten your car not fix everything they were supposrd to.Go back to them and have them put those bolts on for you.I hope I understood your story correctly, and glad you didn't get hurt...

RE: Frame Question

I would get it fixed properly. At the bear minimum I would have a professional check it out and see what his opinions are on it.
