What's wrong with my car? please help
 

I have a 1998 ford mustang, v6 3.8L. Recently my check engine light came on. I brought it to one of my friends who has a ford and has a "computer". It said that the car is running lean. Every once in a while the past few weeks the car kind of bounces for a few seconds then it doesn't do it again for a while. Can you please tell me what is probably the cause so I can avoid a trip to the mechanic? Thanks.

well how many miles on this thing?..my guess off the wall here is a o2 sensor is acting up
