Tire size for (17 x 9) and (17 x 10.5) rims
Hey guys and gals. I’m new to the boards, first post – I’ll get right to the point.
I have a 2000 mustang and I recently purchased aftermarket rims, sizes 17 x 9 (front) and 17 x 10.5 (rear). I was thinking about running 275/40/17 tires on the front, and 315/35/17 on the rear.
A friend of mine suggested that these are WAY too big (wide), and that I should drop them down to 245/45/17 on the front and 285/40/17 on the rear.
Any suggestions?

the 275 and 315 are the perfect sizes, just look around on the forum, alot of people are running those sizes. i would be but my rims only came in 17x9 so i'm running 275/40 17 all around. go with the larger sizes other wise you'll be dissapointed

yeah man go with 275 on the front and 315 on the back perfect size thats what all my friends run... what kind of tires are u looking at getting? if you go with a skinny tire they will look funny and be more prone to damage because the tires are wanting to curve in...ant
