Hmmm I had the same optima red top in my Dodge for 6 years, never had any probablems. The Nova has the a red top also, no problems so far (both cars had over 11.5/1 comp). Be carefull if you put a 16 volt system in the car, they tend to charge at around 18 volts, things like headlights and such don't last too long, they are great on a race only car though,also DO NOT ever jump start a 16 volt system with a 12 volt ECU controlled car, it can kill the computor in an instant.

Well I know red top optima battery has done me good, Basically if you buy a sears die hard battery Vs costco enerzier Battery they are both made buy the same supplier OEM, optima May indeed, I am sure optima will out perform them.
