Default My Plans...

Whats going on everyone?

I do not currently own a mustang, but i want to get a 99-04 model this summer, i'm not really into the new generation mustangs so much, but before i buy car ive kind of mapped out where i want to go with it, but first i want to see if its worth the hassel?

I want to get like i want to purchase like a 99 v6 (possibly convertible) and convert it into a 03 cobra body with a 5.4 engine from a truck (preferably out of a navigator since it has 32valve heads)

I want to have a mild cam, some headers, big 3 inch exhaust and, some nice gears in the back, and possible add a procharger. and still reliable and efficient enough to use as a daily driver. (even though it probably wont be)

so how much do you guy think a project like this will run me $$$ (itemized)?

And what type of modded will it take for me to get where i wanna?

You'd be better off buying a gt than making a fake cobra. Or just save up and buy a damn real cobra.

It'd be cheaper to buy an old fox and plant a 351 in it.

with the set up you have planned, that would be a $hitty DD. reliability would be terrible...

btw...what is your overall budget?

i'm not trying to turn it into a drag car, just faster than average mustang and camreo for that matter.
I found a 99 theft recovery convertable for $1900, that is amissing its front cap, drivetrain, trunk and lights

found 65kmiles 02 navigator drive train for $2500 (minus $700 if i dont want the trans) from a rolled vehicle,

Transmission choice is still in question

i was going to put the mustang body back together using 03 cobra pieces.

and put a cam, headers and a big exhaust on the navi drivetrain and put it all together, with some gears in the rear end.( the procharger was just an after thought, especially when i looked up how expensive they are)

Whats bad about my ideas? what makes the comb unrealiable? and Would it be expensive to get all of this installed, because i didnt think i would come out cheaper buying a real cobra that has a 4.6?

Just in case you didn't see it the first time.

i dont like fox bodies enough to buy one, plus i have a close friend that is doing exactly that(351 in a fox) its a common combo, but a 5.4 32v in a 2k body style is not. the only other is vehicle i want would is the 07-09 cadillac escalade ext which is about 40k+ and i would rather not have a second car payment
