Default 5.0 cooling plate - throttle body

Question - what purpose does the "cooling plate" on the throttle body serve? i had a hard time finding the gasket( i was leaking a/f into my intake)... so I just bypassed the cooling plate with a new hose...

impacts?

It's a warming plate. It warms the intake charge to help with emissions.

it warms air for cold morning so to speak...all I usr is a 6" of coppertubing and by pass it buy then you check engine light should come on,next take out the sensor leave it connected and put alum. foil around the exposed sensor and but a plug at lower for the hole and the check engine light will go out

Are you talking about the EGR spacer?

Okay, if you're talking about the EGR spacer, it actually cools your intake. It runs coolant thru the spacer where the exhaust gases come in to keep the temps down. If you bypass the spacer, you will need to get rid of your EGR stuff or you will be pumping hot exhaust striaght into your intake.
